The X Factor winner Sam Bailey slams the show for ‘favouring sob stories over talent’

Last night saw everyone’s mum’s fave finalist, Sam Bailey, steal the X Factor crown for 2013, but even winning the show hasn’t stopped her having a bit of a dig at the way things work backstage.

Sam has apparently decided to say what we’ve all been thinking for a while now, and slammed the show for favouring someone with a good old sob story over a contestant with actual proper talent. Ooh-err, why do we feel like Simon Cowell will be watching over her like President Snow in The Hunger Games?

Sam was a sure favourite to win the final straight from Day 1, after absolutely blowing the judges with her amazing singing, rather than tales of how she once dropped a piece of toast on the floor buttered side down and she’s found it difficult to cope ever since.

Talking to the Daily Star Sunday, Sam admitted that it took her six years to find the courage to have a second crack at auditioning for the show, after being told that she wasn’t good enough for the first time around.
