Sometimes, when an X Factor contestant reaches the final but doesn't quite take home the crown, they still go on to become bloody good little popstars. Obviously that wasn't the case for One Direction, who disappeared off the face of the earth and are probably Simon Cowell's chief bum-wipers. SUCH A SHAME.
Anyway - one fella who's got a bright future ahead of him after missing out to Sam Bailey last year is Nicholas McDonald, 'cause he's been snapped up by Sony bloody Music. Woopah.
